Richard has an impressive background in nursing, with a career that spans various roles and specialties. Born in Eastern Tennessee and raised in Raleigh, NC, he moved to Charlotte in 2007 to pursue nursing. He earned his Associate’s in Nursing in 2010 and his Bachelor’s in 2012 from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His experience includes working in the Neuro-Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital and later in the Neuro-Trauma ICU at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina.

After nearly a decade at the bedside, Richard furthered his education by obtaining his Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Duke University in 2019. He has since worked in urgent care and occupational medicine, valuing the personal connections he builds with patients and the importance of providing personalized care.

Richard is humbled to join the team at Integrative Family Medicine of Asheville, where he will focus on guiding and supporting patients to achieve their whole-health goals.

Richard lives in Brevard with his wife, son, and their tortie cat, “Squish”. In his free time, Richard can be found riding, running, or moseying the local trails. Additionally, spending quality time with family and friends keeps his bucket full.
