  • Although Health Sharing has been around for years, it may be new to you. We created a summary page of prices and benefits that you can access here.

  • It is a great value for individuals and family that receive limited or no subsidy through the Affordable Care Act (ACA)

  • There is no open enrollment period for Liberty Direct. You can apply at any time. Once you are approved, you can cancel your previous coverage and begin saving.

  • It qualifies for an exemption under the Health Sharing Ministry clause of the ACA– meaning that you are not required to purchase an additional insurance plan.

  • It is a Health Sharing Ministry, however they do not require a specific denomination or particular expression of faith

  • Unlike ACA Insurance, Health Sharing Ministries can take pre-existing conditions into account. Liberty Direct only denies 3% of applicants. If you have some preventable conditions, you may qualify for ‘Provisional Status’ which means that you have to pay $55 more per month. However, that $55 goes towards paying a personal Health Coach to work with you on reversing the condition through lifestyle. (We think that’s pretty cool.)

  • Liberty Direct does not directly cover mental health, birth control or abortion. We can provide routine mental health in our clinic as part of primary care. We can also help with access to generic medications for your family planning.

Enrolling with our clinic through Liberty Direct is a 3 step process. Here are the steps to follow:

  • Third, once you receive your Member ID from Liberty Direct, contact our clinic at 828-575-9600 and we will activate your stipend

Once you enroll with our clinic you are an active patient and can schedule an appointment. The clinic enrollment is directly between you and Integrative Family Medicine of Asheville. We will bill you through the Hint Health payment service until your stipend is active. If your stipend does not cover the full cost of your family’s medical care, the remainder will be charged through the Hint Health service.
