Ariana Figueroa, NBC-HWC

Integrative Health Coach

Ariana Figueroa is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, trained by Duke Integrative Medicine. She works to help patients bridge the gap between personal goals, expert medical recommendations, and the ability to incorporate both into their daily lives. She is passionate about the Health Coaching process and the power of its platform to empower people to reach their goals.

She grew up in the musical southern town of Athens, Georgia. She left the South to study Spanish, Arabic, and Portuguese at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont. Surviving the arctic winters there, she left Middlebury with her B.A. and an appreciation for the ability of language to shift from being a potential barrier to becoming a platform for connection.

Her long-time love of gardening, which blossomed while working at Middlebury’s Organic Garden, eventually brought her to Asheville to work at Beetree Farm and Vineyard. Ariana first learned about IFMA while studying with local herbalist Juliet Blankespoore (Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine). Attracted to the whole-person, integrative spirit of IFMA, Ariana knew then and there she wanted to be a part of the team. She was thrilled to join the front office staff in 2016. After serving patients in that capacity, she chose to deepen her knowledge and ability to support their health & well-being by training with Duke Integrative Medicine to become a health coach.

As IFMA’s Health Coach, Ariana works to help patients bridge the gap between personal goals, expert medical recommendations, and the ability to incorporate both into their daily lives. She is passionate about the Health Coaching process and the power of its platform to empower people to reach their goals.

When she is not in the office, you will find Ariana coaxing her 4 year old son, Luke, back onto the garden paths, studying herbalism, listening to audiobooks, and cooking. In stolen moments, she seeks to find new answers to the question: What creates and sustains health and well-being?
