SUMMARY:Preventive Medicine for Men: Building Health and Strength
DESCRIPTION:Preventive Medicine for Men: Building Health and Strength Wednesday\, June 24 | 6:00–7:00 PM Wrong Way Lodge | Free & Open to the Public \nMost men don’t think about their health until something breaks. This talk is about changing that. \nJoin us for an honest\, evidence-based conversation with Wesley Miller\, PT\, FAAOMPT\, owner of Anti-Fragile Physical Therapy\, on what it actually means to build strength\, resilience\, and vitality — not just for today\, but for the decades ahead. \nWesley has spent over a decade helping men in Western North Carolina move better\, recover smarter\, and stop guessing about their health. His message is clear: aging well isn’t about holding back the clock. It’s about understanding your body well enough to keep doing what you love — for life. \nIn this talk\, Wesley will cover: \n\nWhy most men are majoring in the minor things when it comes to their health\nThe four (maybe five) true components of physical wellness — and how to balance them\nHow to apply sustainable stress to your body for strength\, not breakdown\nWhat the current science actually says about optimizing your body at 40\, 50\, 60 and beyond\nHow to stop running on outdated information and build a real plan for your body\n\nWesley Miller\, PT\, FAAOMPT\, owner of Anti-Fragile Physical Therapy \nThis isn’t a sales pitch. It’s the conversation most men never get to have with someone who genuinely knows what they’re talking about. \n \nFree and open to the public. All are welcome — bring a friend. \nRESERVE YOUR SPOT HERE

SUMMARY:Nature and Forest Therapy Walk
DESCRIPTION:When was the last time you truly slowed down? \n  \n\nJoin our guided Nature and Forest Therapy walk to unplug and reconnect. This experience focuses on slow movement and sensory awareness to discover nature's restorative benefits. \nYour guide will offer gentle invitations to help you engage your senses and experience the landscape in a new way. \nForest Therapy stems from Japanese Shinrin-yoku ("forest bathing")\, which addresses stress and urbanization. Research shows it reduces stress and improves immunity\, a tradition expanded in the U.S. by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy  integrating elements of mindfulness\, ecotherapy\, psychotherapy\, and wilderness guiding. \nThis Community Event will take place on July 22\, from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm at Asheville Botanical Gardens. The event is open to Integrative Family Medicine members\, and attending is free. However\, this event is limited to 12 seats\, so sign up now to reserve your spot.  \nPlease RSVP via this link to attend. \nYour Guide:\nNancy Krisel\, LCSW\, SEP\, is certified through the ANFT as a Nature and Forest Therapy Guide. She adores time outside and sharing the beauty and wonder of the natural world with others. Her love of nature began in childhood. The birds\, alligators\, banana trees and ocean of her native Florida quietly shaped a lifelong knowing: we are not alone here. We are part of a living\, breathing web of life. Asheville has been her home for more than 20 years\, and she continues to discover new trails and wonders in these ancient mountains. \nNancy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner in Private Practice. She brings a grounded\, compassionate presence to all her work\, characterized by deep listening\, collaboration\, and unconditional positive regard — whether in the therapy room or beneath the trees. \nRSVP via this link to attend.
